HEY,

I'M GRADY

I'm a chemist, musician, weightlifter, philosopher, and oh yeah - a photographer! I have many passions, and to complement my love for the sciences, I also pursue the arts in various forms. Beginning concurrently with my love of chemistry in junior-high school, I have had a latent desire to pursue photography, an art-form that has intrigued me ever since first encountering it on my mom's old 35 mm Minolta film-camera. In my ever-evolving pursuit of meaning through life, I've found satisfaction in taking photos (you'll see me light up when I get "the shot"). Photography lets me satisfy my nerdy side, explore new places, and look at the world through a different lens (hah, pun)!

MY PHOTO

PHILOSOPHY

"Photography takes an instant out of time,

altering life by holding it still." - Dorothea Lange

Often when we reflect upon who we are, we tell stories and recall moments from our past - we remember "snapshots" that have come to shape who we are now, and who we will become. These things are what make our lives beautiful, valuable, and meaningful - it is my goal in photography to be present for those very moments, to capture them, and to share them! When collaborating with me, we'll be able (as Dorothea Lange says) to take those instants out of time, hold them still, and keep them with us.
